Thai Airways – A380 Aircraft Maintenance Scaffolding System
INFORMATION
Project :Thai Airways – A380 Aircraft Maintenance Scaffolding System
Location:Thailand
Description:For Thai Airways’ A380 — the world’s largest commercial aircraft — Sucoot delivered a custom-engineered scaffolding system designed for safe and smooth maintenance operations inside a limited hangar space. The structure provided full access to the fuselage, tail, and wings without touching the aircraft surface, adapting to multiple height levels and large wing curvature.
Through 3D design simulation, Sucoot’s engineering team precisely modeled the interface between scaffold and aircraft, creating a 9 m cantilever section for upper-wing access. The result was a highly flexible system that allowed technicians to move freely and perform maintenance tasks efficiently, ensuring both safety and operational continuity.
Challenges
01
Limited hangar space and significant elevation differences across the A380 structure.
02
Scaffolding needed to provide complete access without physical contact with the aircraft.
Sucoot's Solutions
01
Designed a custom 3D-modeled Ring Lock Scaffolding System that followed the aircraft’s complex contours.
02
Integrated a 9 m cantilever platform for wing access while maintaining clearance and stability.
03
Enabled smooth, uninterrupted maintenance operations with safe access and optimal workflow efficiency.
